"Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" is a song past American rock band Fuel.[three] It was released in September 2000 as the lead single from their second studio anthology Something Similar Man. It hit number two on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, also their highest-charting single on the nautical chart. To engagement, it is Fuel'south highest charting single on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number xxx.[4] Information technology too peaked number 17 on the Adult Top xl nautical chart and number 22 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart.

Carl Bong explained on an episode of VH1 Storytellers in 2001 stating: "This is as deep as it goes, for me. When I was younger, my grandmother got cancer. By the time they plant it, it was much likewise late. Instead of sitting in some hospital, she wanted to go home and exist home. And my mother and my aunts and their husbands went to sit with her at home. A few months passed, and the cancer had spread, it had eaten upwards virtually of her trunk and all of her hope, and it was a bad fourth dimension. 1 item twenty-four hour period was a really bad day for her. My mother was sitting with her that evening, and she turned to my mom, and said, 'How practise you die?' It crushed my mom, and it's still crushing me."[ citation needed ]
[The starting time verse] deals with the male point of view of a relationship that you've gotten burned on, and the person has come up back to you. Only by so, at that place's been damage across repair. The second poesy kind of shows the vulnerability of the girl...It's always an interesting state of affairs and a pretty wrenching one besides."[v]
American Idol [edit]
Chris Daughtry performed this vocal on American Idol as a contestant in early 2006, which was during the period after longtime singer and guitarist Brett Scallions had left the group, prompting Fuel bassist Jeff Abercrombie and guitarist and songwriter Carl Bell to publicly ask Daughtry to exist their new pb singer on the television receiver show Extra.[6] On the show, Abercrombie stated: "Chris, if you are watching, we've talked almost this before, and if y'all want to entertain it again nosotros'll have it and become..."[half-dozen] Daughtry, although flattered, eventually declined the offer, opting to form his own band, Daughtry, instead.[7]
Music video [edit]
The music video for "Hemorrhage (In My Easily)" was directed by Nigel Dick and was filmed between August i-2, 2000 at Kitchener City Hall in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada and features the band performing besides as Nick Koppell and Szilvia Jones playing a couple. [8] The cerise car is a 1971 Buick Riviera.

Critical reception [edit]
The song was Billboard magazine's number five Rock Vocal of the Decade, according to their Best of the 2000s Rock Songs chart.[ix] In 2013, "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" became the number six alternative rock song of the past 25 years, according to Billboard 's Culling chart 25th Ceremony: Top 100 Songs.[ten]
